Bear Alert – Ski Ranches

Dear Ski Ranchers,

Two juvenile black bears (approx. 200 lbs each) are roaming Ski Ranches during the day. They are getting into trash and have broken into homes – including scratching a bedroom window and entering a kitchen.

The Dept. of Wildlife may trap & relocate. We do not want the bears to be euthanized.

Take action now:

• Store trash in bear-proof containers

• No food, pet food, or attractants outside

• Inform guests & renters of bear safety rules

Trash service update:
Bruin Waste missed Tuesday pickup this week – picked up Wednesday without notice.
They may now only take bagged trash from cans.
Some routes using trailers, leaving cans partly full.

These changes may be contributing to bear problems – we are seeking clarification from Bruin Waste.
